Native 8(a): Delivering Exceptional Value to America
The Native 8 (a) program is efficient, competitive and cost effective providing exceptional value to the U.S. government at no extra cost to the taxpayer.
During these unprecedented dire economic times, Native 8(a) businesses are employing thousands of Americans with steady, good-paying jobs
- Native 8(a) businesses provide quality work at competitive rates that meet the demanding needs of the U.S. Government in a timely manner.
- These contracts for work are not automatically awarded – each one goes though an extensive review process where the project's scope and budget are carefully examined and negotiated to ensure the government is receiving good value and quality of service.
- Each contract is up for annual renewal and subject to close scrutiny by the U.S. government. The financial books and records of native companies are subject to extensive audit by government regulators.
- Section 8(a) does not give an advantage to an unqualified company, nor does the 8(a) program guarantee a contract. It simply makes Native businesses eligible for work.
- A federal agency can award a contract to an 8(a) company without competition, only when it is in the government’s best interest to do and when the government is assured that the contract represents the best value.
